We spent the morning at the Discover Centre in Stratford. We were given a tour of this magical wonderland where stories are brought to life with amazing interactive exhibits. As we walked around, there were toddlers running around and enjoying the space.
We were invited as part of the Big Write Festival to do What’s in a Book, an illustrated programme with Key Stage 2 children from West Ham Primary School. This was a great environment for Verna Wilkins to demystify the process of how she gets ideas for her books and the entire process of how these ideas are turned into a printed book.
The children listened with interest and asked loads of questions. Afterwards, they chose books supplied by Letterbox Library and had them signed. The adults gathered around Verna with more questions and a request to visit the school.
Another successful event.
